It all began in 2017 when Piet Steenkamp, our beloved grandfather, designed the first bin clip in his garage. Determined to keep monkeys from rummaging through his wheelie bin and creating a mess, he crafted a simple yet effective solution to secure the lid.

But Piet's invention was about more than cleanliness. He wanted to protect the monkeys, too. By discouraging them from scavenging for human food, he aimed to reduce the harm caused when people tried to chase them away. What started as a personal project quickly gained attention. Friends and family loved the clips, and soon, word spread, leading to a growing demand.

After Piet's passing in 2022, our grandmother, Sarie Steenkamp, stepped in to continue his legacy. Today, we—his grandchildren, Ruan and Pieter Steenkamp—are proud to carry the torch, ensuring that his vision of harmony between humans and nature lives on.
